Switching It Up

I am most definitely proud of my Italian heritage; gnocchi, anything with red sauce..this list goes on and on. So when it comes to my true and trusted Italian recipes that either have been passed down, or that I have learned throughout my years of cooking, I am the type to stay with what I know best. When it comes to trying something completely different then what I am used to, I tend to hesitate. This is what happened when I stumbled across a recipe for Chicken Alfredo Lasagna on Pinterest. Not only did it not feature my beloved marinara sauce and standard ricotta cheese, it had artichoke hearts and sun-dried tomatoes, and cottage cheese. I feel like Pinterest is either a hit or miss with recipes. This one was definitely a hit! Even my husband raved about it!

2 cups boneless skinless chicken breast,
cooked and shredded
1 (14 ounce) can artichoke hearts,
1/2 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) package KRAFT Shredded

3. Spread half of the remaining cream cheese sauce onto bottom of 13×9-inch baking dish; cover with 3 noodles and 1/3 of the chicken mixture. Repeat layers of noodles and chicken mixture twice. Top with remaining cheese sauce and mozzarella; cover.

I served this with garlic knots and parmesan broccoli

January Birchbox

Is it just me, or does everyone like having surprise packages show up in the mail?

What if the surprise package came as a box and it contained everything girls love; makeup, hair products, even snacks?

And they even have boxes for men, featuring all the newest colognes, shaving creams, etc.

If you haven’t heard of Birchbox yet, your missing out on one of the newest and hottest trends!

For only $10/month you get a Birchbox catered to your profile you fill out when you sign up. I’ve been signed up for 3 months now, and I literally await my Birchbox at the beginning of the month. So far I haven’t been disappointed with the samples (when I say samples, I am talking generous samples) they have sent. Ranging from chocolate covered pretzels dipped in coconut to fun new nail polish colors.

Well enough about all of that, let’s cut to the chase! Here’s what I found in this month’s Birchbox.

Each Birchbox comes with a handy dandy card that tells you what each product is and how much the full size costs to purchase.

Omni Potent Duosity – Full Size $25

I definitely got excited to see this! Winter has really done a number on my hair, and this claims to repair all damage within 3-5 minutes. I am anxious to try this and hopefully it will help with the static in my hair!

Liz Earl Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser – Full Size $21.50

I love trying new skin products and this came with a full size face cloth and a generous size bottle of cleanser! And it’s only 2 steps, which is definitely do-able for me!

Ahmad Tea – Full Size $7

I don’t know about you, but when it’s below zero outside, any kind of warm drink sounds inviting! Can’t wait to try the Blackcurrant flavor!

And last but not least…

Camille Beckman Glycerine Hand Therapy in Midnight Monarch – Full Size $14 (on left)

I’ve already tried this lotion, and I love the non-greasy feeling, however the smell is a little too strong for me for an every day lotion. But definitely a keeper to have in my purse!

Inika Mineral Eyeshadow in Eternal Marine – Full Size $20 (on right)

I used to use BareMinerals all of the time, and still do from time to time, so I am already familiar with mineral eyeshadow. I definitely use an eyeshadow primer, otherwise I find any mineral shadow fades fast throughout the day. This is a really pretty color. It’s a blue/gray color that works well in the winter or with a smokey eye! And I love the shimmer!

Question of the day: Are you going to subscribe for a BirchBox?

Exciting News!

What do you think of when you see these?

If you haven’t guessed yet, it all stands for General Mills. It’s one of the world’s largest food companies and is made up of Yoplait, Pillsbury, Green Giant, and many others. If you followed my other blog in the past (A Pinch of This, and a Dash of That), you probably remember my trip to tour General Mills. Ever since, I’ve been bound and determined on getting my foot in the door to the biggest foodie universe.

Well, I’d like to announce that I am now an official employee of General Mills at their world headquarters location!

I start my new position at the end of January, and it’s the corporate job I’ve been wanting since I graduated college!

Share in my excitement with me and make a Betty Crocker recipe tonight! 🙂
